The Bargara Little Athletics Club’s 2012 AGM will be held at 4:00 pm this Sunday at Nielson Park. All current and prospective menbers and their families are invited and encouraged to attend.

Its time to celebrate the end of the season with a party and presentations.

TIME: 1.00 pm – 4.30 pm
COST: $10.00 per family to go towards catering costs
Socks, Scooters, Ripsticks, Rollerblades or Rollerskates are also welcome

Proceedings will begin with the Presentations of Awards and an update of the clubs activities through a General Meeting.
All athletes who wish to have their Shields updated will need to have them delivered to Fiona’s work: BTransformed, 47 Bourbong St, by the RSVP date.
If you are unable to attend, but would like your Shield updated, please also let Fiona know.
Also, if you won a Perpetual Trophy Award last year – it will need to be returned. Thank you.
All athletes please return their Shields as soon as possible.

This is so they can be updated before our Presentation Day function.
Regional Championships 2011 – done and dusted!!

Thanks to everyone who sponsored us or helped out over the weekend. Our athletes had a fantastic time and lots of success. So far I know that Bargara athletes Morgan Engstrom and Bradley Thompson both broke Regional records in more than one event and I haven’t even had time to check out all the results yet! There’ll be photos and more results coming up as soon as they’re available.

Central North Regional Championships this Weekend at Bargara!!

We’ll be welcoming all the athletes (and their mums, dads, g’ma’s etc) from our fellow regional clubs this Saturday!! March Past is at 8:15 am, and Bundaberg Regional Council Mayor, Lorraine Pyefinch will declare the winner of the March Past and officially open the Regional Championships at 8:30 am. The 1st events kick off at 9:00 am.We are still looking for volunteers on Saturday, from 6:30 am on (but at other times when you’re available) to help with food preparation and keeping things going around the course. We are responsible for the long jump all weekend and it would be nice if we had enough volunteers to ensure that parents could go off to watch their kids events. 3 Time Australian Olympian Justin Anlezark to conduct a coaching clinic at Bargara Little Athletics!!

We are excited to announce that Justin Anlezark, a TRIPLE Olympian and dual Commonwealth Games competitor is coming to Bargara Little Athletics on Sunday, 21 August 2011 to conduct a throwing workshop for shotput, discus and javelin. He will also give the kids a motivational talk and he hopes to find Australia’s next throwing Olympian at Bargara! Justin is a shot put and discus champion and a coach in all 3 disciplines.
Justin competed in the shot put for Australia in the Sydney, Beijing and Athens Olympics! His Personal Best in Shot Put is 20.96 metres!! He has also thrown the discus over 59 metres!

Bargara Shoreline Apartments at 104 Miller Street, Bargara have generously donated 2 nights accommodation to Bargara Little Athletics. We thank them for their support of our club.
